Done all I can do...

Time to face facts. I do not play winning poker. I cannot fool myself for any longer.

Oh sure, I can have winning sessions but overall I do not play winning poker. I do not know if it's lack of skill or lack of luck. I have no friends to advise me. I have no one to even discuss it with.

I will probably play casually from time to time hoping to hit a rare lucky winning session. Other than that I'll just find another hobby. One that can be done alone.

I'm certainly done embarrasing myself by writing about poker and making people think i'm actually competent which I am not. For anybody that did read this, thank you. If you happen to be a fan of poker hang in there, don't let me discourage you. There are plenty of bad players to take advantage of. Who knows you might find me at the tables, you could make a bundle that way.

What's the saying....a bad night of poker is still better than a good day of work? If you aren't having fun with it then you should step aside for awhile...I mean if it isnt fun then why bother, but if you can still have fun, win or lose then stick with it. I know you said you don't have anyone to advise you...have you read any of the books out there on Poker. I know there are like a gazillion of them. Keep your chin up.... there are worse things.  ;) xoxo

As old momma used to say..... Only one thing nearly as good as playing and winning, and that's playing and losing, and both are better than not playing!! If you enjoy it and can afford it, why not continue?.. A recent remark by perhaps the worlds most consistant player, Daniel Negreanu comes to mind. "When I'm losing I feel like I'm a complete bum, how could I make such terrible decisions", but when I'm winning I feel like " Boy, this sure is easy" ... Moral of the story is...Even the best players in the world feel just like you do when they are losing. You are completely normal in that, This morning so far I have played in 2 tournaments, did nothing wrong and lost both, I'm signed up for another that starts in 12 minutes and hope for better results, but If I don't get them, it won't matter, as long as I get my money in with the best hand, if someone sucks out on me, that's just the way poker is........   :)

A very good point and I think I even either saw him on TV or read that comment in Cardplayer. I have thought of that and I AM playing well inside my bankroll. I DO enjoy it most of the time. I guess I just need to blow off steam at times. It surely can make you question your skill level at times, worse for me since I tend to do this anyway and have no real gauge of where I'm at other than my results which I do know do not ALWAYS reflect your skill level, especially in the short term. Long term results are still out so I guess I do need to just keep trying.

I think I'll go home now...should be in time to sign up for UB's 2:00 tourney. I got 3rd once and in the money a few other times so maybe it wasn't a fluke :) LOL or maybe the fluke will happen again. Either way I'll endeavor to just enjoy  the time playing.

Also, check out Play Poker like the Pros II by Doyle Brunson...It has probably been read by every serious poker player in the world and most of the part timers too...
